green light on the dock
We walked out while it turned quiet. The stench has permeated the city, arose from gutters of the streets. The filth, a mixture of vomit and feces, guided the sickness to us. That was our only company, yet we kept walking.
We both were immersed by drunkenness, but I could never gain even the faintest satisfaction from the immodest drinking, nor the parties. She felt differently, I presumed. For countless moments reason has prompted me to walk away before the night, but I would also have to walk away against my own will. That was what I desired. Thus, here we were, and we kept walking.
She asked for a jacket, not from me, merely as a general request. I took off mine and embraced her with the black fleece. The breeze before dawn strolled between us, grasped the shimmering heat, and flowed away. The lamp was the blazing sun. I thus wanted to grasp the remaining warmth under its glimmering glow — but then, there was not any, as it was only an image, but not the sun.
I have never felt this cold, but we kept walking into the mild night.
